Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to support our attorneys in handling a wide range of legal matters. The ideal candidate will assist with legal research, document preparation, case management, and client communication while ensuring compliance with U.S. legal procedures and deadlines.

This role is critical to maintaining efficient legal operations and delivering high-quality legal services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms
  • Draft, review, and organize legal documents, pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, trials, hearings, and depositions
  • Manage case files, calendars, and court deadlines
  • File documents with federal, state, and local courts (e-filing and physical filing)
  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel professionally
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with ethical and legal standards
  • Assist with billing, time tracking, and administrative legal tasks

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. legal terminology, procedures, and court systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • Professional demeanor and client-focused approach

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience as a paralegal in a U.S. law firm (preferred)
  • Familiarity with federal and state court filing procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant practice areas (e.g., family law, litigation, corporate, real estate, or criminal law) is a plus
